One Community, 200 Meals

Before Thanksgiving, I had the joy of hosting a small group of friends who wanted to support our school families in a hands-on way. Using the Dollar Tree Dinners model, each person committed to bringing ingredients for one or more recipes, and together we set up an assembly line in my kitchen. In just a few hours, we packed 200 four-person meal kits: turkey dinner, chicken and dumplings, minestrone soup, and a pancake breakfast.

We brought the meal kits to school and made them available to all families, encouraging them to take an extra bag if they know someone else in their community who could use the support. Within a week, 175 bags had gone home with families. Moments like these remind me of how much good can come from simple acts of care and how generously our community continues to show up for one another. Thank you for being part of our community.
